NEXT GEN AUTOMATION: innovative solutions for a modular, flexible and scalable supply chain

Logistic field is rapidly evolving, with new technologies and innovations constantly emerging to streamline processes and improve efficiency. One of the most exciting developments in recent years has been the rise of logistics automation, which promises to revolutionize the way warehouses operate. Using robotics, artificial intelligence, and other cutting-edge technologies, logistics companies are able to automate many warehouse management tasks, from inventory tracking to order fulfillment.

But what does this mean for the future of logistics?

We discussed this topic during our Open Day on May 10th. We have presented some success stories regarding innovative solutions that we have developed for our customers, demonstrating our ability to provide a complete and personalized service, from the Business Case analysis to implementation and after-sales, thanks to its LoRa (Low Risk Automation) methodology. Our goal is to accompany the customer in every phase of the project, always guaranteeing the highest quality.

How has the market changed and what are the solutions related to logistics?

The change in purchasing models, the uncertainty of macro-economic scenarios, the need to combine B2B and B2C models, together with a high instability of demand, create a scenario in which automation and robotics are at the service of the development of new logistics automation solutions.

For several years, in fact, the world of logistics and the supply chain have undergone a radical transformation, especially from a digital point of view. All this has led to greater attention to product traceability research and the development of new industrial automation solutions linked to the increasingly modular, flexible and scalable value chain.

Which are the challenges that the logistics market currently faces and what solutions does ERREVI AUTOMATION offer for its customers? We talked about it with Alessio Longhini, CEO of Errevi Automation:

Business model innovation

The e-commerce sector is growing . The number of transactions and customers who buy on the internet is constantly increasing. Customers increasingly satisfy their needs and requirements with a click, putting the efficiency of the purchasing process first at every stage. What the e-commerce boom has revealed is that customer satisfaction is top priority.

We also asked Marco di Pietro, CEO and Founder of Idea Pura and our guest at the Next Gen Automation event on May 10th about the market trends – “Customization and digitization, here are the trends towards the management of each single order. Increasingly smaller orders, requests for customizations, management of ad hoc services designed for the individual customer.“

The explosion and consolidation of e-commerce has brought about multiple changes in warehouse operations. The entire warehouse organization of an e-commerce, both the distribution of goods and the work of the operators, must focus on providing customers with the requested orders. In order to manage requests, companies aim to facilitate logistics operations and adopt increasingly flexible logistics automation solutions.

The role of logistics automation in the warehouse of the future

“In the future of the warehouse there is the automation which solves two problems: lack of space and lack of manpower. The warehouse design process is therefore important” – these are the words on the subject by Marco Cernuschi, Senior Partner Consultant of Simco Consulting.

The main advantages of an automated warehouse are several:

  • reduction of operating costs;
  • possibility of minimizing the occupation of surfaces;
  • reduction of housing costs;
  • greater accuracy and operational speed;
  • more accurate warehouse management.

Today there are several solutions to aim for warehouse automation. Among these we find the automation of the stock of palletized goods through stacker cranes, shuttles, picking systems. To understand how to implement your own warehouse it is necessary to carry out an in-depth analysis of current and future needs through analysis, research, quantification of investments.

How does Errevi Automation stand in relation to market trends and intelligent warehouses?

The logistics automation solutions that Errevi Automation offers start from the creation of a software that pilots all the technology. We support companies in the analysis and definition of solutions that are studied ad hoc and that create a real competitive advantage, in terms of service level, responsiveness, flexibility and efficiency. We are able to accompany the customer at 360°, from the analysis of the Business Case to implementation and after-sales, thanks to the LoRa (Low Risk Automation) methodology
